Tilley Return Policy

If you wish to return an order that includes a gift with purchase, you will need to return both the item that you paid for along with the gift to be eligible for a full refund. In the event the gift is not returned its value will be deducted from your refund.

Tilley offers refunds on new, unwashed, unworn, items within 30 days of the date of purchase. Items must be in their original state with tags attached and packaging.

Tilley will provide a FREE return shipping label to customers within the UK for all returns.

Please note that we no longer offer exchanges as a return option.

Please note that items labeled as Last Chance can still be returned. 

Original Payment Method: a refund will always be processed back to the original method of payment.

Holiday season: Items purchased any time between 1st November - 31st December can be returned until 15th January . Refunds will be issued via the original method of payment.

RETURNS – How To Return an item shipped within the UK

Requesting a return is quick and simple, you just need your Tilley order number and post code!

We have provided a step-by-step guide below to show you how to complete a return.

STEP 1 – Request your Return.

  • Locate your Tilley order number (Looks like this: UK#####)
    • You should find this in either your order confirmation or shipment email.
    • If you placed your order using your Tilley account, you can also find it in the “Order history” section.
  • Click on the “SUBMIT RETURN” button Below.
  • Enter the Order number and the delivery Postal code and click “START A RETURN”.

STEP 2 – Select the Item(s) to return

  • Click on the item you want to return.
    • Eligible items will appear in white
    • Ineligible items will be greyed out
  • Select the Reason you wish to return the item. Based on the reason, you may be requested to provide more information.
  • Repeat this step for all items from this order you wish to return.
    • Note: items from different orders will need to be returned on separate requests.

STEP 3 – Review your Request and Submit.

  • If you are happy with your return request, click “SUBMIT RETURN
  • You will receive a confirmation email shortly thereafter along with your free returns shipping label and a QR code.
  • Print the label and attach it to your package. You will now have 28 days to drop off your package at your Local Post Office. If you are unable to print the label, show the QR code to the Post office who can print the label for you.

RETURNS – How To Return an item shipped outside the UK

We are currently unable to offer returns via our portal to shipments despatched to overseas addresses.

  • To initiate a return please email info@tilley-uk.com quoting your original order number (which will be in the format UK#####). You can find this in either your order confirmation or shipment email, or, if you placed your order using your Tilley account, you can also find it in the “Order History” section.
  • In your email, please confirm the items you would like to return along with the reason for their return and one of our Customer Service Advisors will be happy to advise you of your next steps.

You are responsible for any postage charges relating to your return.

Please note you may incur additional customs fees during your returns process so check with your local customs office before placing an order to see how this might impact any return you may need to make to Tilley in the future.

Once your package has been successfully delivered to our warehouse, please allow up to 10 working days for your return to be processed. Once processed you will then receive a confirmation email along with your refund. Please allow up to 10 working days after your refund has been processed for funds to appear back in the original account.

With the growing popularity of online shopping, the number of packages delivered to homes is increasing daily. Unfortunately, this rise in deliveries has also led to an increase in missing or stolen packages, raising concerns about package security. 

Tilley takes responsibility for your package until the courier confirms the delivery to the provided location. However, if your package goes missing or is stolen after confirmation, Tilley cannot be held accountable for replacing it. 

To address these concerns, we recommend using the Royal Mail tracking service. This tool empowers you to request alternative delivery options, such as choosing a safe place or selecting a nearby location for secure package pickup instead of leaving it on your porch.

We use the Royal Mail Tracked 48 Service to ship orders within the UK. We do not offer any other shipping service at this time, and we are unable to expedite orders.

DELIVERY COSTS FOR EUROPE

We ship to the EU using Royal Mail Tracked and Signed Service. Once the package has arrived in the country of delivery it will be passed onto the nominated courier in that country.

Delivery time within the EU can be between 3 - 5 working days but is dependent on the postal service in each country. Overseas orders are sent at the customer's risk. Large or heavy orders being shipped outside of the UK may require delivery by courier. We will contact you prior to despatch if additional charges apply or a signature on delivery is required.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE: Any duties or taxes that may be levied against packages arriving from outside the destination country, as determined by local Customs and Immigration agencies, are the responsibility of the recipient. The UK has exited the European Union as of January 1st 2021. Changes to our dispatch and delivery process for some of our customers have been made as a result.

CUSTOMS & DUTY

From 1st January 2021, if you are ordering from outside the UK your order will be supplied VAT free. As all orders are shipped directly from the UK, you may have to pay customs fees when your parcel reaches the country you live in. You are responsible for any import duties, customs, and local sales taxes, and you will need to pay these fees to release your order from customs. We do not have any control over customs and import tax and we cannot tell you exactly how much you will be charged, as this varies widely depending on the country you live in. Any orders with a value above the threshold amount will be charged import fees, so we recommend contacting your local customs office for more information before placing your order. Please also note that you must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country the products are destined for.

Some Tilley hats are Guaranteed for Life against normal wear and tear, imperfect workmanship, or faulty material. If your hat experiences any of these issues, please submit your request by selecting and completing the “Guaranteed for Life” form below. Next steps will be provided within 5-7 business days.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Only hats with the designated “Guaranteed for Life” label will be considered for replacement. Customers must provide photos to identify the eligibility of the item, as well as proof of destruction of the item upon request once approval is granted. All qualifying replacements are subject to a non-waivable handling fee.

Note: Tilley Endurables only accepts Guaranteed for Life requests through Tilley.com. Any requests submitted outside of the electronic portal will not be accepted. Should you have any questions, please contact the Tilley Customer Service Department by email. 

Packages sent without prior authorisation will be refused and returned to sender at the shipper’s cost. Processing times may vary due to increased volumes in peak seasons and are contingent on the provision of all required information from the customer. Requests will not be shipped until all requirements are met by the customer. Tilley will not be held responsible or liable for any lost or stolen packages in transit. Please contact your carrier to settle any shipping issues.

Tilley reserves the right to determine if an item qualifies for replacement under the Guaranteed for Life policy.

    Guaranteed for life!!

    Received my replacement for my 10-12 year old hat that I wore until the sweat band was worn out.

    Just as nice as my original hat. After I got my new replacement, I bought another color to work in.

    Wear one of them nearly every day.

    You won’t be disappointed in this hat.

    Heritage T3 Hat

    I originally purchased an Airflow hat. However, even with ventilated band I found that the synthetic material made my head too hot in direct sunlight. Very comfortable and will be good for Spring and Autumn. For Summer wear I also purchased a Heritage hat made from cotton. Also very comfortable and much cooler in the sun.

    Very pleased with both items and service offered by Tilley.

    Best hat I own

    The construction of the Airflo hat is first class. Although I just purchased it I can tell this will be my go-to hat for the hot sunny days we have here. I perspire a lot in our humid weather so I’m anxious to see how it performs and cleans up. The lifetime guarantee tells me Tilley is quite confident in their product. I highly recommend giving it a try.

    Giving a 5 even though after around 20 years the sweat band is wearing out. Have to order another one and hope the quality hasn’t changed and I get another 20 years

    Invest in your Hat

    I remember being in an REI 4 years ago thinking... $100 for a sun hat?? But the guarantee for life got me. And man, they were right. This hat has been through so much. It can take anything, so I wear it anytime I'm doing something outside. Mowing the lawn through a Texas summer? Swimming? Day at the park? Angels Landing? Its held strong, and kept me comfortable the whole time. A modern cowboy hat for the Texas city slicker without a ranch or cattle. Throw it in the wash, pull it over your knee to straighten it out and it's as good as new. 4 years of heavy use and not even a loose thread to be found, just a nice custom stain from staining a fence in it. I love this thing. If I ever lost mine because I let it float down the river or something, I'd buy another immediately.
