Some Tilley hats are Guaranteed for Life against normal wear and tear, imperfect workmanship, or faulty material. If your hat experiences any of these issues, please submit your request by selecting and completing the “Guaranteed for Life” form below. Next steps will be provided within 5-7 business days.
Only hats with the designated “Guaranteed for Life” label will be considered for replacement. Customers must provide photos to identify the eligibility of the item, as well as proof of destruction of the item upon request once approval is granted. All qualifying replacements are subject to a non-waivable handling fee.

Packages sent without prior authorisation will be refused and returned to sender at the shipper’s cost. Processing times may vary due to increased volumes in peak seasons and are contingent on the provision of all required information from the customer. Requests will not be shipped until all requirements are met by the customer. Tilley will not be held responsible or liable for any lost or stolen packages in transit. Had the cotton duck natural hat since the late 80s when my dad received two hats for opening a US account in Canada. Since then, his son has warn this hat for all of his cottage, camping and vacation trips. After over 30 years, Tilley honoured their guaranty and just ordered a new one. Thanks Tilley for the quality and continued honour of this awesome product!
As good a hat as i recall
My old bald head was getting sunburnt while walking my Labrador so it seemed appropriate to buy a Canadian hat.
It’s great quality and it fits perfectly. The head measuring and sizing instructions were spot on for me.
It’s better than I hoped. I’m really pleased.
I came to check what model Tilley hat I bought on sale in 2001 and found it to be the T3. I don’t have the chin strap, since I never used it anyway… the brass fittings are a bit corroded, but the hat has held up all that time. I didn’t use it constantly, but I am finding more use for it lately. It’s been washed maybe a dozen times, and will shrink a little bit, but stretching over the knee works well.
Looking forward to this thing lasting another 20 years!
I was gifted this hat 15 years ago by a good friend and have worn it almost every day summer-winter the whole time. It finally gave out today after 15 years of hard service hiking and camping the Colorado Rockies and manual labor. I probably should have washed it more than once a year as I think it would have lasted longer that way, but I have already bought another and anticipating it's arrival.
